Patrick and Will geeked out tonight when we enjoyed Star Wars night at the Bowie Baysox stadium. Will and Patrick went solo last year but we took the whole clan today. Patrick strapped on Stella, Patti strapped on Maggie and Will got to run and play and just be himself for the first time in a long time. We had a blast, Will especially. He avoided the stormtroopers all over the stadium like he was being hunted, but he ate popcorn, had ice cream, played in the moon bounce, rode on the carousel, hit a wiffle-ball, and danced to the Star Wars dance mix.
Despite Will's talk all week about wanting to meet Darth Vader, he couldn't stay far enough away from him tonight. Patrick jumped at the chance to get a picture with the group below (and he never stopped smiling).
Last year Will was too scared to enjoy R2-D2 but he went right up to him tonight. Will totally thinks he's real and that he was talking to him when R2-D2 beeped or raspberried.
You're forgiven if you don't notice Patrick's stormtrooper shirt among the coolness below. Will asked Patrick to wear that shirt today because Will said "that way the stormtroopers will think you're a stormtrooper."
Maggie, Will and Patti shared some good laughs during the game.
