SSNS Truck Touch 2014

The 11th Annual Silver Spring Nursery School Truck Touch was held Saturday at Will's nursery school.  This year, for the first time, we really felt like we managed to have fun without worrying about the kids.  They told us what they wanted to see, they waited patiently behind other kids, and they enjoyed a quick lunch on the lawn.  And we enjoyed asking firefighters and police officers questions we always wondered about. Fun!

Will is ALL about Mack trucks right now.  He has a toy one, he knows the M A C K letters, and he shouts out every time he sees one when we're driving.  So of course there was a brand new Mack dumptruck at the Truck Touch.

The recycling truck is always a hit (who doesn't like throwing stuff).  Plus Patti learned that she can recycle her tetrapack lined paper bottles.

Will took the girls "down town" in the police car.  Check out Maggie's face.  Someone tell me we won't see that face in that place again.  Patrick asked the police man Will's question about CPR training and learned that all of our officers are CPR and AED certified.

Will's favorite is and will always be the pumper engine.  The fireman was patient and great with the kids.  He answered Will's question about the blue, green, yellow and red light series on the side of the engine (blue means the pumper is full of water, red is empty and green and yellow are inbetween).  The fireman on the other side of the truck said he loved Will's Chicago Fire Department hat.

Will and daddy checked out the motorcycle and the nice SSNS parent who brought it let Will start it up.  Patrick was very jealous.

See you next year!
